Install and play
- 01Unzip the download and double-click install.command.
- 02macOS will say it is from an unidentified developer, because it is unsigned. Right-click it and choose Open. On newer macOS, open System Settings, then Privacy & Security, and click Open Anyway.
- 03It finds FTL, keeps an untouched copy of the game data, patches in the mod, and puts an FTL Multiplayer launcher on your Desktop.
- 04Double-click FTL Multiplayer on your Desktop and press MULTIPLAYER. Pick a ship, spend your 10,000 scrap, then press QUEUE and accept when the match is found.
Requirements
- A Mac. Intel and Apple Silicon both work; on Apple Silicon it runs through Rosetta. There is no Windows or Linux version yet.
- FTL: Advanced Edition version 1.6.13. It is built and tested against the Steam copy; a GOG copy has not been tested.
- A network that allows outgoing UDP on port 27888. The match server is in Europe; the further away you are, the more delay you will have.
What it changes
No game content is shipped: the installer patches the copy of FTL you already own. Starting FTL from Steam still runs normal FTL; the mod only runs through the FTL Multiplayer launcher.
To uninstall, open Terminal, drag install.command into the window, type a space and --uninstall, then press return. It restores the game data and removes the engine and the launcher.
